EXCHANGE PROGRAMME IN MOROCCO FOR NEWLY QUALIFIED CHEFS
Would you like to teach gastronomy in Marrakesh? – Join the Melting Pot Foundation’s exchange programme
Have you recently graduated as a chef, and would you like to apply your culinary expertise in an international, meaningful context? The Melting Pot Foundation is now offering a unique exchange placement at our culinary school, Um Mami, in Marrakesh, Morocco.
You will become part of the daily team and play an assisting role in both teaching and the school’s day-to-day operations. Working alongside local staff, you will share your culinary expertise and contribute to the development of the school’s activities, including team-building courses, cooking classes, events, consultancy projects, and collaborations with restaurants and hotels.
The programme offers:
Teaching experience – practice guiding others and communicating your expertise
Insigt into Moroccan gastronomy – work with local ingredients and techniques
International experience – strengthen your CV through a placement abroad
A strong professional and personal network– build relationships with chefs and educators
Professional field visits – visit producers, restaurants, and partner organisations
New perspective – renewed motivation and fresh insight into the culinary profession
Um Mami educates young Moroccans for employment in the country’s growing hospitality and restaurant sector. The exchange programme, therefore, offers a unique opportunity to both make a meaningful difference and develop professionally and personally.
Practical information
Travel, accommodation, and insurance are covered as part of the programme. The exchange placement lasts around 6 weeks, starting in week 16.
Send a motivational letter (1 page) and your CV to es@meltingpotfoundation.org no later than March 25. You can expect a response in week 13 regarding interviews, which will take place between March 30 and April 1.
